Position Description:

  • Responsible to deliver the fieldtrip (activities and knowledge) to the participants of the schools selected..
  • Responsible to read the trainer’s file and activities before the fieldtrip and inquire about issues that are not understood.
  • Responsible to integrate MI (Multiple Intelligence) and simplify the information for the students to understand.
  • Responsible to follow WESC’s philosophies of inquiry based learning, thinking outside the box and critical thinking, all under the umbrella of fun learning.
  • Responsible to locate and ensure that all needed equipment is available and, if not, a list will be given to the Project Manager for purchasing.
  • Adapt and communicate to all students the content of the day suitable for the age group and ensure the wellbeing of the students.
  • Responsible to remove and sort all equipment used on fieldtrips, back at the end of each day in a neat and responsible manner.
  • Organize and set-up boxes for the activities of the following day (even if the trainer will not be teaching the following day).
  • During the day of the field trip, the trainer is responsible to stay the students to during the time allocated for the sessions.
  • Responsible to model all WESC behaviors to inspire the other trainers, as well as the students and their teachers.
  • In case of an injury, the trainer is responsible to contact the school coordinator to deal with the injury.
  • When dealing with the students, the trainer is responsible to be organized, engaging and have control of the group.
  • Discipline of the students is to be taken to a certain limit. Trainer should be aware of and implement, when needed, WESC’s Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • It is the responsibility of the trainer to ensure that all students are treated fairly, that there is no physical contact with students, and that there are no preferences.
  • At the end of the fieldtrip, the trainer is responsible to report about the strong points and shortcomings of the fieldtrip, which is to be written in the fieldtrip planner.


Qualifications Required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Science or Education Degree.
  • Excellent written and spoken Arabic. English is a plus.


Skills:

  • Ability to initiate and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills, especially with children.
  • Capable of teaching students of different ages. Capable of simplifying instructions and breaking down information for all age groups.
  • Research scientific material as a means of enriching one’s knowledge and skills for the fieldtrips.


Personality Traits:

  • Punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Flexibility to travel for a few days on expeditions in areas with minimal communication access and modern comforts.
  • An outgoing personality, able to work in a dynamic office where flexibility and multitasking are essential.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Work well within a team. Understand the principles of cooperation and collaboration.
  • Able to maintain attention and provide guidance to a group of students, for all age groups.

Work Duration:
A contract of three months to be renewed after based on performance.

2-    Job Description: Project Manager

Position Description:

  • Planning of project delivery with WESC MD
  • Organization of documents and reporting.
  • General administration support of the project.
  • Monitoring of the project and reporting to WESC MD.
  • Recruitment of staff.
  • Financial budgeting and control.
  • Managing bottle neck situations, handle any complaints
  • Managing of staff; the team consists of 16 Trainers working simultaneously in different classes.
  • Ensuring the smooth flow of the program, troubleshoot in case of emergency.
  • Responsible to coordinate with the assigned trainers of the field visit, its dates, the logistics and the content of the trip
  • Responsible to oversee the good overall management of the day


Qualifications

  •  A minimum of a bachelor degree in Science and/ or preferably in a related field of Environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in project management preferably in the field of education. Experience in environmental education is a plus.


Skills:

  • Excellent written and spoken Arabic. English is a plus.
  • Ability to initiate and work independently with minimal supervision.

3- Job Description: Full Time Educational Facilitator

Within WESC base and excursions, the facilitator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible to deliver the field trip (activities and knowledge) to the participants coming to the WESC Centre.
  • Responsible to read the leader’s file and activities before the fieldtrip and inquire about issues that are not understood.
  • Responsible to integrate MI (Multiple Intelligence) and simplify the information for the students to understand
  • Responsible to follow WESC’s philosophies of inquiry based learning, thinking outside the box, and critical thinking all under the umbrella of having fun whilst learning.
  • Responsible to work in close collaboration with the Senior and Elementary School Coordinators to develop new field trips if needed.
  • Responsible to locate the documents relevant to the field trips and identify all items required for delivering the field trip.
  • Responsible to locate and ensure that all needed equipment are available and if not a list will be given to the Elementary or the Senior School Coordinators for purchasing.
  • Responsible to adapt and communicate to all students the content of the day suitable for the age group and ensure the wellbeing of the students.
  • Responsible to inform the Elementary School Coordinator or the Senior School Coordinator about any cancellation three days prior to the fieldtrip.
  • Responsible to remove and sort in the storage all the equipment used, after the fieldtrip.
  • Responsible to organise and set up materials for the activities of the following day.
  • Responsible during the day to escort the students to and from the bus during arrival and departure and to stay with the group during the lunch time.
  • Responsible to model the best WESC behaviours to inspire the other leaders as well as students and their teachers.
  • In case of an injury the leader is responsible to contact the Coordinator to deal with the injury.  
  • When dealing with the students, the leader is responsible to be organized, engaging and have control of the group.
  • Discipline of students is to be taken to a certain limit; leader should be aware of and implement, when needed, WESC’s (Zero Tolerance Policy)
  • Leader should have a proper knowledge of WESC accident policy and implement it if needed.
  • It is the responsibility of the leader to ensure that all students are treated fairly, that there is no physical contact with students and that there are no preferences.
  • Responsible to report at the end of the fieldtrip about the failure and success of the fieldtrip which is to be written in the fieldtrip planner.
  • Responsible to try out the activities before conducting the field trip to ensure all activities are working and all materials are suitable
  • Responsible to be present and engage into the briefing and debriefing sessions and demonstrate support to the School Coordinator


Educational Background:

  • A minimum of a bachelor degree, preferably in education or science.
  • From 1 to 3 years of experience in  similar field

Skills:

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic. French is a plus.
  • Ability to initiate and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills especially with children.
